Chania

Greece

Mediterranean sunsets, old harbors, and the European summer dream.

I never used to like the sun that much. Crete changed that. Chania's old harbor, the lighthouse at sunset, the laid-back pace — it's a different kind of travel from the Nordic cities I usually gravitate toward. Walking out to the lighthouse with a bottle of wine at sunset is one of the most unforgettable experiences I've had.

01

Walk out to the lighthouse at sunset. Take a bottle of wine. Some of the most unforgettable memories from Crete.

02

The old harbor is genuinely beautiful — not just tourist-beautiful. The Venetian architecture is stunning.

03

Chania proved that I don't only love cold Nordic cities. Sometimes the Mediterranean gets it right.
