Review

Generator Copenhagen sits in a converted building near Kongens Nytorv, which means you're walking distance from Nyhavn, the Design Museum, and most of what matters in central Copenhagen. The design is what sets it apart from typical hostels — industrial concrete meets warm Scandinavian wood, with common areas that feel more like a boutique hotel lobby than a backpacker hangout.

The dorms are clean and well-designed with individual reading lights and power outlets. Privacy curtains on the bunks are a nice touch. The bathrooms are shared but maintained well.

For remote work, it's decent but not ideal. The cafe area has good wifi and plenty of seating in the morning, but by late afternoon it becomes a social space. If you need focused work time, plan for mornings or find a nearby cafe.

The bar and social events are well-organized without being overwhelming. It's the kind of hostel where you can be social if you want to be, or completely invisible if you don't. That balance is rare and valuable.
